This qualification has been developed for persons aspiring to become a Career Coach or Mentor.

When you become a career coach, you will get paid to provide career coaching services to people who are seeking employment in fields such as the arts, business, education, health care, hospitality, law enforcement, technology, or other industries.

You will have an interesting, flexible, and rewarding career helping people set and achieve goals for finding a new job or getting started in a new career.

You can help clients explore career choices, or coach them through the process of applying for jobs and preparing for interviews.

As a career coach you could also get paid to provide additional services such as writing resumes, leading career training programs, or providing outplacement services for corporations.

When you become a career coach, you might choose to work with job-seekers and career changers of all ages and backgrounds, or you could specialize in providing career coaching services to particular types of people, including:

  • Career changers
  • Culturally diverse populations
  • Disadvantaged populations
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Entry-level workers
  • Mature workers
  • Military (veterans or their family members)
  • Senior-level executives
  • Unemployed workers
  • Women (e.g. moms returning to the workforce, women executives, or women in nontraditional careers)

If you start your own career coaching business you will have the freedom of choosing the types of clients and career coaching you want to do. As the owner of a career coaching business, you can also enjoy the financial rewards of being your own boss.
